Job Description
The Vodacom IT Learnership offers participants real-world IT training combined with academic instruction. This includes:

  • Installation of IT hardware and software
  • Performing basic troubleshooting and repair tasks
  • Refurbishing computers and IT equipment
  • Providing network and connectivity support
  • Supporting community-based ICT projects

Learners will be exposed to hands-on tasks that build practical experience and industry-recognized skills, positioning them to pursue entry-level IT careers or further training upon completion.

Ideal Candidate
To qualify for this programme, you must meet the following:

  • Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID
  • Aged between 18 and 34 years
  • Have completed Matric with subjects including English (1st or 2nd language), Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, Business Studies, and/or Physical Science
  • Currently unemployed and not studying
  • Not receiving any bursary or financial aid in 2025
  • Reside within commuting distance of one of the listed Vodacom ICT Centres
  • Have not participated in this programme previously
  • Must come from a disadvantaged background (Quintile 1–3 school learners prioritized)

Role Responsibility
As a Vodacom Youth Academy participant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending all theoretical and practical training sessions
  • Applying skills in real-world settings such as computer refurbishment labs
  • Assisting mentors and staff with ICT-based community outreach
  • Maintaining punctuality, professionalism, and discipline throughout the learnership
  • Submitting assessments and documents timeously

Learners will also work alongside mentors and support teams, gaining insight into the demands and responsibilities of ICT careers.

Western Cape:

  • Somerset High School, Worcester

Limpopo:

  • Makhado CPD Centre, Dzanani

Free State:

  • Moutloatsi Primary School, Thaba Nchu

Northern Cape:

  • Kimberly Teacher Centre, Belgravia

Candidates must ensure that they can travel to their nearest ICT Centre daily.
