Job Description

The SHE Intern role is designed to help young graduates gain real-world experience in workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance. This internship offers a chance to work within a structured HSE department, under the guidance of experienced professionals, and take ownership of meaningful projects that directly impact Unilever’s SHE objectives.

The intern will play a key support role in updating SHE procedures, assisting with training logistics, maintaining documentation, and driving risk-based assessments—all while contributing to a safer, more sustainable workplace.

Role Responsibility

As a SHE Intern at Unilever’s Anderbolt Factory, you will support day-to-day safety, health, and environmental operations and gain exposure to all compliance-driven activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Updating SHE Procedures: Assist the SHE team in maintaining up-to-date documentation in line with corporate and legislative standards
  • Risk Assessments: Support in reviewing and conducting risk assessments and evaluating environmental impacts
  • Incident Investigations: Assist with logging, documenting, and following up on incident investigations
  • Communication Support: Share safety-related information through digital displays, notice boards, and internal meetings
  • Training Coordination: Help the Training Facilitator in planning and executing SHE training programmes
  • Data Collection: Collect and collate SHE statistics such as accident reports, audit findings, and hygiene scores
  • Audit Support: Work alongside SHE Coordinators to plan audits and track corrective actions
  • Housekeeping and Inspections: Participate in workplace inspections including first aid box checks, cleanliness audits, and area inspections
  • SHE Action Tracking: Maintain trackers to monitor progress across key SHE activities and interventions
  • Contractor Induction: Conduct SHE induction sessions for external contractors, ensuring alignment with factory policies
  • Key Projects: Interns will select and lead two key SHE improvement projects during the internship
