PepsiCo South Africa is offering an exciting Sales Learnership Programme designed to provide unemployed South African youth with valuable theoretical knowledge and workplace experience. Over the course of 12 months, learners will build a strong foundation in sales, brand management, and customer service — preparing them for permanent roles in the sales and marketing sector.

Job Description:
This learnership programme is a 12-month structured learning journey that blends classroom instruction with real-world experience in the FMCG space. Learners will receive exposure to brand promotion, negotiation, route planning, customer management, and key compliance procedures. Graduates of this programme will have a strong grasp of the fundamentals of sales and brand development, making them highly employable within the retail and distribution sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing all required modules of the Sales Learnership Programme
  • Achieving set revenue and volume targets in alignment with PepsiCo’s Annual Operating Plan
  • Maintaining a 100% customer call rate for assigned areas
  • Meeting a strike rate of 90% (successful sales interactions)
  • Keeping stales (expired stock) below the 0.5% threshold
  • Securing new business acquisition targets as outlined in the sales plan
  • Managing cash, stock, and reconciliation accurately
  • Using data reports to improve sales efficiency and customer targeting
  • Driving company vehicles safely and efficiently to control operational costs
  • Following all company policies including Sales, Health & Safety, and Compliance protocols
  • Maintaining all company-issued equipment such as hand-held computers, mobile phones, uniforms, and vehicles

Minimum Qualifications:

To be eligible for the learnership, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Completed 3-year tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, or Marketing
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
  • Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PrDP)
  • South African citizenship
  • Currently unemployed and not studying full-time during the learnership
  • Availability for the full 12-month programme
  • Willingness to travel, work flexible hours, and operate in various sales territories
