Introduction
Pick n Pay, one of South Africa’s largest and most iconic retail chains, is calling on dynamic, passionate, and career-driven graduates to apply for its 2025 Learnership Programme, based at its Eastport (Gauteng) and Phillipi (Western Cape) Distribution Centres.
This is a 12-month structured development opportunity designed to give learners a competitive edge in the retail supply chain or IT space. It offers graduates the chance to gain hands-on experience, grow in a team-focused environment, and receive coaching from some of the most experienced professionals in the industry.
Job Description
The Pick n Pay Learnership is more than just a stepping stone—it’s a launchpad into a full-time retail, supply chain, or technology career. During the 12 months, learners will be fully integrated into the Distribution Centre operations while completing structured learning modules.
Learners will:
- Gain exposure to logistics, project management, and distribution operations
- Be mentored and coached by senior team members
- Be given the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in a real work environment
- Participate in collaborative, impact-driven initiatives within the business
- Live the Pick n Pay values and serve as brand ambassadors
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Completed National Diploma (NQF 6 or higher) in one of the following:
- Information Technology
- Logistics / Supply Chain Management Applicants with strong performance in the Project Management module will be preferred
- Must be unemployed and available for the full duration of the learnership
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Gauteng or Western Cape
- Must have a strong academic record and demonstrate high potential
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in day-to-day warehouse, logistics, or IT operations
- Support data collection, analysis, and project execution
- Assist in system testing, inventory tracking, and quality assurance
- Attend all learning sessions and complete programme assessments
- Demonstrate leadership, responsibility, and ownership of assigned tasks
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, punctuality, and discipline
Competencies Required
Pick n Pay is looking for learners with the following qualities:
- Good communication skills – verbal and written
- Strong computer literacy – especially Microsoft Office Suite
- Adaptability and drive – willing to learn and work under pressure
- Problem-solving ability – focused on practical solutions
- Initiative and team spirit – contribute positively to collaborative efforts
Position Summary
The Pick n Pay DC Learnership Programme 2025 provides a valuable opportunity to gain structured work experience in one of the country’s largest distribution networks.
