Job Description
Sanlam is offering multiple graduate internships and a learnership programme across various disciplines. These initiatives are ideal for unemployed South African youth who are looking to acquire professional work experience, develop technical and soft skills, and improve their employability in the job market.
All programmes run for 12 months and include on-the-job training, coaching, and exposure to real business challenges. Participants will be placed in relevant departments and supported by experienced professionals in line with Sanlam’s commitment to youth development.

- Actuarial Graduate Intern
- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science
- Compliance Graduate Intern – SLS Finance
- Qualification: Legal or Commerce Degree
- Human Capital Graduate Intern
- Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related field
- Employee Relations Graduate Intern
- Qualification: LLB Degree with Advanced Labour Law as a subject
- Legal Services Graduate Intern
- Qualification: Completed LLB or LLM

Learnership Programme 2025
This is a formal learning and development opportunity targeted at unemployed youth who have completed matric and meet the minimum criteria below:
- Qualifications & Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate with:
- Minimum 50% for English and a second language
- Minimum 40% for Mathematics or 60% for Mathematical Literacy
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be currently unemployed
- Age between 18 and 28 years old
- Must not be currently enrolled in studies at another institution
- Must not have completed a Short-Term Insurance Learnership through INSETA
- Grade 12 Certificate with:
This structured learnership includes classroom training, practical workplace experience, and the opportunity to earn an NQF-aligned qualification within the financial services industry.

Minimum Requirements
- South African citizenship
- Age range: 18–35 years for graduate internships, 18–28 years for learnerships
- Relevant tertiary qualification depending on the internship applied for
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work full-time for 12 months
- No prior work experience or internship in the same discipline preferred
Role Responsibility
Each intern or learner will:
- Support departmental objectives through administrative and technical tasks
- Participate in training, mentoring, and performance reviews
- Gain insights into professional roles and responsibilities
- Be involved in day-to-day operations, meetings, and client-related activities
- Contribute ideas to business improvements or problem-solving initiatives
- Track progress and maintain performance records as required
