Job Description:
The Driver will report to the Financial Specialist and work closely with stakeholders in the Taxpayer Engagement Division. The position focuses on the secure and efficient transportation of goods, documents, and personnel while maintaining the condition of assigned vehicles and meeting service expectations.
As a Driver, you will be responsible for performing logistical and general administrative tasks, handling vehicle maintenance, planning routes for timely delivery, and complying with all relevant SARS procedures and traffic regulations.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure safe and efficient transport of passengers and cargo as per SARS requirements
- Execute planned routes for logistical and operational tasks
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and serviceability
- Perform routine checks and basic vehicle maintenance
- Complete delivery logs and vehicle usage reports
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding progress and status updates
- Assist with general handwork or operational duties where required
- Escalate transport-related issues or vehicle faults timeously
- Follow instructions from managers and provide input where improvements are possible
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with SARS security and governance protocols

Position Summary
This Driver position at SARS Durban presents a valuable opportunity to join one of South Africa’s most trusted public institutions.
