Job Description

Role Responsibility

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate your route daily based on predefined work plans provided by team leaders
  • Transport employees, VIP guests, or board members punctually and professionally
  • Operate the SARB vehicle responsibly, maintaining compliance with road and safety laws
  • Adjust schedules and plans in response to unexpected situations like traffic congestion
  • Maintain up-to-date records for audit purposes, including trip logs, fuel usage, and maintenance activities
  • Collect and deliver documents and goods across departments and external offices efficiently
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and security protocols, particularly when handling sensitive documents or high-profile passengers
  • Provide courteous customer service, offering assistance such as luggage handling
  • Perform administrative support tasks for the operations or human resources departments as needed
  • Represent the SARB with professionalism and reliability on every assignment

Skills and Attributes

Candidates must possess both technical and soft skills to succeed in this position:

  • Valid Driver’s Licence with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)
  • 3–5 years of experience as a driver in a corporate or institutional environment

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate (NQF Level 4) or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s licence, including a Passenger Driver Permit (PDP)
  • 3 to 5 years of driving experience in a formal corporate or government environment
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics (to assist with maintenance inspections)
  • Knowledge of metropolitan traffic networks and GPS usage
  • Clean driving and criminal record
  • Ability to manage stress and multi-task effectively

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for ad hoc driving assignments outside standard hours
