The Trainee Employment Counsellors Programme is a 12-month structured internship designed to provide work exposure, skills training, and mentorship for graduates in Psychology and Industrial Psychology. Participants will support work-seekers, conduct research on labour market trends, and assist in providing professional counselling services.

Qualification:

  • Minimum of a three-year tertiary qualification in Psychology or Industrial Psychology
  • An Honours degree in Psychology or Industrial Psychology will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • Preference given to candidates registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as:
    • Registered Counsellor (Independent Practice), or
    • Psychometrist (Independent Practice)

Key Performance Areas

Successful applicants will assist in the following duties:

  • Render administrative support services to Employment Counsellors
  • Conduct research on labour market needs and best counselling practices
  • Provide and implement recruitment and selection services
  • Network with stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery
  • Register and provide support to work-seekers
