About the Programme
Rand Water is offering an opportunity for unemployed South African youth to apply for its NQF Level 5 Learnership Programme. The programme aims to develop Procurement Officers who will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and supply of goods and services, managing contracts and supplier negotiations, and monitoring procurement schedules.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be unemployed
- Must not be enrolled in any educational institution or learnership
- Must not have completed any post-matric qualification
(Note: Applicants with any post-matric qualification will be disqualified) - Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematical Literacy and English
(Minimum Level 4 for each subject) - Must be between the ages of 18 and 35
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID
- Must submit a SAQA or NLRD verification report
For people with disabilities:
- Must provide a valid medical certificate or a completed ITRDD13 form
- Deaf applicants must arrange and cover the cost of their own interpreters

What You Will Learn
During the programme, learners will be trained to:
- Develop and implement operational schedules for procurement and supply
- Manage supplier relationships and contracts
- Monitor and measure procurement performance
Responsibilities During the Programme
- Attend all classes and participate in learning activities
- Complete all required assignments and projects
- Maintain a practical logbook
- Undergo continuous assessments to demonstrate competency
Knowledge and Skills Gained
- Understanding of Rand Water’s role in the water sector
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Basic operational and administrative skills relevant to procurement
