Job Description:
As a Grants Administrator, you will serve as the front-line support in delivering essential services to South African citizens in need. Your role will focus on providing customer care services for social grants, assisting with grant applications, maintaining beneficiary data, and ensuring effective off-site support when needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing a professional and helpful grant customer care service
  • Screening and capturing new grant applications on SASSA systems
  • Processing beneficiary maintenance requests accurately
  • Coordinating and booking medical assessments for applicants
  • Providing mobile and off-site grant application support
  • Scanning and batching grant files for record-keeping and audits
  • Maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance in all processes

You will work closely with other administrative and customer service teams and report to the local office manager.

Ideal Candidate:
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)
  • A relevant National Diploma or Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7)
  • Computer literacy is a non-negotiable requirement

Role Responsibility:
The successful candidates will be expected to perform the following duties in their assigned local office:

  • Handle face-to-face enquiries and provide professional grant-related information to clients
  • Capture new grant applications and update beneficiary information on SASSA systems
  • Schedule and manage bookings for applicants’ medical assessments
  • Offer mobile outreach support to communities unable to access local offices
  • Ensure all scanned documents and grant files are processed and batched for further use
  • Adhere to all compliance requirements related to government record-keeping
  • Contribute to customer service improvement initiatives and uphold SASSA service standards

You will act as the critical link between vulnerable citizens and the support they rely on for livelihood, so consistency, patience, and accuracy are key to your success.
